Barong Dance (Batubulan Village)
Barong is a character in the mythology of Bali. He is the king of the spirits, leader of the hosts of good, and enemy of Rangda in the mythological traditions of Bali. Banas Pati Rajah is the fourth "brother" or spirit child that accompanies a child throughout life. Banas Pati Rajah is the spirit which animates Barong. A protector spirit, he is often represented by a lion, and traditional performances of his struggles against Rangda are popular parts of Balinese culture. The Barong is often portraited with two monkeys. The animal/ mythical creature would dance along the street to the calonarang dance. A priest would throw Holy Water at it. It is known as the Demon Queen and Mother of All Spirit Guarders. The lion barong is one of five traditional Barong. In Bali each region of the island has its own protective spirit for its forests and lands. Each Barong for each region is modeled after a different animal. There is a boar, a tiger, a dragon (or serpent) and the traditional lion. The lion is the popular one as it comes from the Gianyar region where Ubud (the home of tourist viewed ritual) is located. Within the calonarang, the dance drama in which the Barong appears, the barong responds to Rangda's use of magic to control and kill her to restore balance.
Gold & Silver Smith (Celuk Village)
The productions of gold and silver at Celuk village have penetrated to the local, national and international market. It can be measured from the type of artwork result and variation of ornament, good as present and also export commodity. The type of gold and silver craft has been produced in this countryside are covering various of rings, bangles, chokers, earrings, mother of pearls, Tusuk Konde, broach and other types. Beside of that, Celuk's workers are able to response the market demands and produce the modern product like medal, maket and culture symbol. In spanning of artistic growth history, the silver and gold crafting had been started by a group of family pertained by Clan Pande. From this family circle, the activity of gold and silver crafting has disseminated to entire society as a top profession which are previously as the farmer. In year 1970's decades, it has been happened the change of countryside society culture significantly from agrarian society structure to industrial society structure of crafting. Even nowadays, some of them have jumped again to the economic structure of service by focusing in tourism industry. The change and jumping movement of these structures have brought the new positive impact for prosperity.
Balinese House Compound (Batuan Village)
Traditional Bali house consists of a group of buildings constructed within a walled area and Balinese gateways. It is built according to a set plan given in detail by the “Hasta Bumi” lontar scrolls (Hasta Bumi Lontar is one of the many books of Balinese traditional knowledge. In the ‘utama’ or main area of a Balinese house there lays a ‘sanggah’, or temple placed within a house or garden, to worship the spirits of the ancestors. In the ‘madya’ or middle area there are four main buildings: Bale Dangin, Bale Dauh, Bale Daja, and Paon. These four buildings face one another. The ‘Bale Dangin’ (or BaleAdat) functions as a place to hold religions ceremonies (tooth filling or wedding ceremonies). The Bale Dangin directly faces the Bale Dauh and is bordered by a garden called ‘natah’. In the past, the Bale Dauh was built as an open space with six pillars or ‘saka’ and one bedroom. However, recently there have been many architectural changes leading to a variety of structures. The Bale Dauh of today contains several rooms, which is due to the population in crease on the island. The ‘Bale Daja’ is located next to the Bale Dangin to the north. It functions as a bedroom for elderly members of the family, such as the grandparents. The Bale Daja faces the kitchen or ‘paon’ which is located in the south area of the housing compound and is generally very large and contains a clay hearth used for cooking.
Goa Gajah Temple
Gua Gajah (Elephant Cave) is located in west side of Bedulu countryside, Blah Batuh Sub district and Gianyar Regency. It is about 27 km from Denpasar town. This cave is built at crevasse edge from the federation of 2 rills that is called Pangkung River , where the irrigation is mixed with Petanu River flow. The federation area of two rivers is called Campuhan/Mixture. It owns the magical energy on the basis of Rwabineda Concept/two different matters on this basic concept hence Gua Gajah (Elephant Cave) is intentionally built among two rivers. There is a relief which is almost looking like the form of mountain on the entrance of this cave. It was carved many designed on the relief like grove with the stick, close leaf, animal for example forest pig, tortoise and specters. The cave mouth is decorated by the bas-relief with the eye turn around to the right or west side. There is an article letter of Kediri type from the early of 11 century was written on the wall left side or east side. There is a pool (Patirthaan) as a place to take the holy Tirtha water for Hindu ceremony which is located in the middle of the cave courtyard. This Holy Pool is previously piled up by land and it has been found on 1954 by Krijgsman from the Ancient Department. The Holy pool is equipped by the statue douche which is parallel arranged in two groups.
Kintamani
Kintamani is surrounded by the captivating nature and there are six ancient villages around cauldron of Batur Lake which is often conceived by Bali Age Village. The local people from these Bali Age villages own the unique cultures, houses and life style. Kintamani Area is consisted of some Villages those are Kedisan Village , Buahan, Abang, Trunyan, Songan, South Batur, Middle Batur, North Batur, Sukawana and Kintamani Village . The total of resident in these area are about 15 thousand who are mostly working as farmer, merchant, or work at industrial tourism. Mount Batur is located at Kintamani and it has erupted about 24 times since year 1800 and still active up to now. Since the mount erupting, it has impacted to the local society life around this mount, like removing altar (Temple), improve or repairing the village and re-arrange the tradition. Lake Batur is the biggest lake in Bali and functioning as irrigation source to all farmers around it and it is also for all Bali society generally. Kintamani area has been founded some lodging, hotels and restaurants which are located in Kintamani and Penelokan Village. It is a famous tourist place because Kintamani area owns the beautiful panorama and it is encircled by the cold atmosphere.
Coffee Plantation
Bali coffee is one of the best coffee product you can drink in Bali, served hot with strong aroma. Bali coffee was planted since 19th century during the golden era of Klungkung kingdom. On that time, the land of Northern and Western part of this island was cultivated with many kind of agricultural products and coffee was one of it. The area of this plantation mainly covering 3 regencies in Bali, start from Tabanan, Singaraja and Bangli regency. We have two kind of coffee species growing : Robusta is one of coffee species grows in the highland and lives for many years with physical characters : Grow big and high, wide leaves, small round fruits, fragrant flower, many branches and can reach 5-7 meters high from the land. Favorable land for planting is cool climate, terraced land, 700-1000 above sea level. Arabica is one of coffee species grows also in Bali. This species normally is productive between 5-15 years old. Physical characteristic of this species are small trunks, long and narrow leaves, the fruits bigger than Robusta, limited and short branches, can reach 1-2,5 meters high from the land, Suitable planting area at volcanic area with cool climate between 600-1000 above sea level.
Tirta Empul (Tampaksiring)
Tirta Empul Temple or Tampak Siring Temple is a holy spring water temple located in Tampak Siring Village, Gianyar regency and it is about 39 km eastwards from Denpasar town. It is set in the dale and encircled by the hill. In the west side of this temple, there is an Indonesian President palace which has been found by the first president. The name of Tirta Empul is loaded in a inscription which is kept at Sakenan Temple, Manukaya village, Sub district of Tampak Siring, about 3 km from Tirta Empul Temple. In this inscription, the Tirta Empul is named by the Tirta Ri Air Hampul and then the name has changed into Tirta Hampul and finally become the Tirta Empul. Tirta Ri air hampul is meaning the water emerge or the holy pool (Petirthan) which is the water emerge from the land. The wellspring emerges from the land is believed that it is the infinite creation. According to the history, that this water source is arranged and sanctified by king Indrajayasinghawarmadewa in the year 882 Saka (960 M). He has given the name with Tirta ri air hampul. The data is loaded in the inscription that is located at Sakenan Temple. Besides of the above epigraphy data, in Tirta Empul Temple is also found the archaeology omission like Colossus Yoni, Arca Lion, Tepasana and Tirta Empul Pool.
Taman Ayun Temple
Taman Ayun Temple is a Royal Temple of Mengwi Empire and it is located in Mengwi Village, Mengwi sub district, Badung regency and about 18 Km north side of Denpasar town. It is strategically located beside of major roadway between Denpasar to Singaraja. It is set on the land which is surrounded by the big fish pond and look like a drift on the water. It owns the beautiful temple building with multistoried roof and Balinese Architecture. The wide beautiful landscape garden in front courtyard to welcome all visitors who come and visit this temple. Pursuant to Papyrus Chronicle of the Mengwi (Lontar Babad Mengwi), the temple which is now referred by Taman Ayun Temple that it had been newly sanctified in the year 1634 M and it is named with Taman Ahyun Temple. The word of Ahyun is coming from from the root word Hyun meaning a temple is founded in the park (pool with the beautiful garden) which can fulfill the desire. The word Ahyun is then changed into Ayun word. The function of Taman Ayun Temple is a place to pray the god in their manifestation. It is according to the content of Babad Mengwi and the existence of temple building structure, especially the temple that is located in third area (Jeroan). According to Astadewata, the special God is worshiped in Taman Ayun Temple is the God in manifestation as a Wisnu God which his palace located in top of Mangu mount. Taman Ayun Temple in capacities or its status as special altar for the King family of Mengwi Palace or as a Merajan Agung from Mengwi King Families specially for the founder of Mengwi Empire that is I Gusti Agung Putu.
Ulundanu Temple (Bedugul)
Ulun Danu Temple is a Balinese Hindu Temple located at Candi Kuning countryside, Baturiti sub district and Tabanan regency. The distance from Denpasar town is about 50 km north side the way from Denpasar to Singaraja. It is set at lakeside of Beratan with beautiful lake view and hills surround it. It is situated in the plateau area with cool atmosphere surround it and hills as a backdrop. We can find at north side of this temple is Pucak Sangkur mount, in the eastside there is Beratan Mount which also referred as Pucak Mangu or Pucak Pangelengan, in the south side there is Terate Bang Mount and in the Westside there is Tapak Mount and Watukaru Mount. The name of Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is taken from the lake where the temple is built at Beratan Lake. The name of Beratan Lake is inseparable with the Beratan Mount as Deity and Goddess as fertility source, prosperity to keep the prosperity in life and society life. In papyrus chronicle of the Mengwi, this temple is referred as the name of Parhyangan ri pinggiring danu Beratan (sanctum located in lakeside of Beratan Lake ). Ulun is come from Hulu word meaning head or power and in this case is intended by Ulun Danu Beratan means power of Beratan Lake that is Danu Goddess. Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is consisted of 4 temples complex that are: Lingga Petak Temple owns the function to worship the Siwa God, Penataran Pucak Mangu Temple to worship Bhatara Hyang Danawa, Terate Bang Temple is functioning to worship of Brahma God, and Dalem Purwa Temple is functioning to worship of Danu Goddess.
Alas Kedaton Temple
Alas Kedaton is a small forest with the width about 6-7ha located in the middle of the rice field in Tabanan regency, west part of Bali. The total size of this forest, temple and its supporter facility is about 12 ha. In this forest, there is a temple called Alas Kedaton Temple and owns the natural environments that is looked green with its fresh air and create the calm, quite and holy atmosphere. The monkeys in Alas Kedaton are very tame and free gallivanting in temple yard, so that the calm atmosphere is sometime solved by noise voice of the monkey, which are playing around and scrambling of food. The monkeys who dwell in this forest, there are jump up and down in temple wall, take a bath in moat or there is also hang out in few leaves representing impression view. The monkey like as custodian of temple, which are always ready to greet all visitor who are paying a visit to this place. Beside monkeys, in Kedaton forest also can be met the bats and some other animals. At least 24 types of grove plant have been identified in Alas Kedaton. Places to see in Bali, Alas Kedaton Places to visitThe temple ceremony in alas Kedaton temple is carried out every 210 days a year. It is on Anggarakasih Medangsia (Balinese Hindu Calendar) or on every Tuesday where on that time the society do the worship or pray to request the safety and prosperity. Tanah Lot Temple
The word of Tanah Lot is consisted of two words that are Tanah word interpreted as a reef looking like gili or isle. Lot or Lod word has meaning the sea. So Tanah Lot is meaning the small island floating on the sea. The location is now called as Tanah Lot has been used at a Megalithic period as a place that looked into holy, proven from the existence of menhir. Traditional Hand Weaving (Tohpati Village)
Tohpati Village is the centre textile traditional, with great variety and qualities of Batik (clothes is obtained by the procedure of having part of the material with wax, to put the colours and to quite the wax). The part with waxed is not coloured, and the one original genuine pace put the colours, as on originates a drawing. The batik is a handmade technique of Java, but the Balinese also do its. Balinese traditional batik has special meanings rooted to the Javanese conceptualization of the universe. This is related to the fact that natural dyes are only available in indigo and brown. Certain patterns can only be worn by nobility; traditionally, wider stripes or wavy lines of greater width indicated higher rank. Consequently, during temple ceremonies, one could determine the royal lineage of a person by the cloth he or she was wearing. In one form or another, batik has worldwide popularity. Now, not only is batik used as a material to clothe the human body, its uses also include furnishing fabrics, heavy canvas wall hangings, tablecloths and household accessories. Batik techniques are used by famous artists to create batik paintings, which grace many homes and offices.
Kerta Gosa
Kertha Gosa is located in the heart of Semarapura town and it's name is taken away from a Sanskrit namely Kertha which is meaning Peaceful and Gosa from the Gosita word mean announcement. Goa Lawah Temple
Gua Lawah or Bat Cave is one of favorite places of interest in Bali and it is located near of hilly bank so it is called reef of Middle hill. This cave is located in Pasinggahan countryside, Dawan sub district, Klungkung Regency, east part of Bali and about 1,5 hours from Denpasar Town. There is a nature cave dwelt by thousands of tail bat located at north side from Jeroan/center of Gua Lawah Temple . Meanwhile the main road from Klungkung to Amlapura is just in front of the temple. This cave is apposite to the beautiful beach with black sand along the coastal area. Pursuant to the papyrus of Dwi Jendra Tattwa, the Gua Lawah's name is Gua Lelawah, the name which is given by Danghyang Nirartha (a priest overspread the Hindu teaching in Bali) when he stop in this place on his Tirtha Yatra trips. He arrive at a cave which is a lot of bats hang on and its unbroken voice clamor as hymn to add the beauty of the cave. Therefore this cave is named by Gua Lawah/Bat Cave. On the above cave is growth by the flower trees with it's smelt fragrance and stimulus the peace mind of Danghyang Nirartha, so that he overnight stay for some nights in this place. From the cave we see also the beautiful coast with the blue ocean with Nusa Penida Island as a backdrop.
Kusamba Village
Kusamba Beach is one of the favorite places of interest in Bali which is famous with the beautiful beach. The boat line with the outrigger belong to the fisherman from countryside are decorating the black sand unfolding along the coastal. Nusa Penida Island is across view which is only occupied by 40.000 people. Kusamba own the marvelous view with the splashing wave from the ocean and it is surrounded the tropical atmosphere with soft sea breeze. We can see the fisherman are looking after the prawn seed, send the rice, legume, fruits and other materials to Nusa Penida twice a day. The fisherman from Kusamba with the big boat and five crews can squire the material heavy as of 1,5 cargo ton to Nusa Penida. They can across the sea from Banjar Tri Buana, Banjar Bias Coastal and Kampung Island Coastal with 30 minutes until 2 hours time differences and it is depend to the type and transportation medium speed utilized. Beside of that, this boat can also squire the passengers who wish to enjoy the beautiful coral and the white sand coastal in the island cross of Bali . Segara Beach in Kusamba is especially for the Hindu ritual activities which are often conducted the activity of Nganyut in line with Ngaben Ceremony (Cremation Ceremony). We can also meet a fish market in this place which is usually held between 10 am until 4 pm. The strait between Bali and Nusa Penida Island is dwelt by a lot of fish, hence it is crowded by the white sail of fisherman boat decorates the sea around the Kusamba beach. At the west side of this coastal, especially in Banjar Batur, there are 40 families of fisherman as the traditional salt maker.
Kecak & Fire (Trance) Dance
The Kecak dance is one of the most famous of Balinese dances. It is unusual because it has no musical accompaniment like many other Indonesian dances do, the rhythm of the dance is produced by the chanting 'monkey' chorus. Instead, a troupe of over 150 bare-chested men serve as the chorus, making a wondrous cacophony of synchronized "chak-achak-achak" clicking sounds while swaying their bodies and waving their hands .From that chanting noise of "Cak-cak-cak", then it gave the dance its name Kecak. What makes the Kecak such a fascinating dance to watch are the fifty or so men in the checkered pants. They are both the choir and the props, providing the music for the story in a series of constant vocal chants that change with the mood of the actors. They don't sit still, either, they wave their arms to simulate fire, and reposition themselves around the stage to represent wind and fire, prison cells, and unseen hand of protection from the gods. The dance is played in five acts and lasts roughly 45 minutes. It taken from the Hindu epic Ramayana, which tells the story of Prince Rama and his rescue of Princess Sita, who has been kidnapped by the evil King of Lanka, Rahwana and somehow with the help of the white monkey army, Rama rescues his wife and defeats the evil Rahwana.
Git Git Waterfall
Gitgit Waterfall is one of the famous tourist destinations in Bali which is located in Gitgit countryside, Sukasada sub district and about 10 Km from Singaraja Town or about 70 Km from Denpasar. It is set at height land about 300 meters above sea level. Beside of Gitgit, there is another important spot point like the monument for hero struggle of Singaraja resident who dead on the battle against the Dutch colonialist. This monument is called Bhuwana Pangkung Bangka. This Monument is extant monument and idol of people struggle action against the Dutch colonization. This monument is located in Gitgit countryside and Sukasada sub district and about 17 Km from Singaraja Town . It is situated on the hill bank. The facilities are available at Gitgit Waterfall is consisted of the parking area, restaurant and art shop. It is not far from the waterfall place, there is a place for taking a rest while enjoy the beauty panorama of rice terrace and Buleleng Beach. In order to visit the Gitgit waterfall, all visitors will follow the walkway down until the spot point. This road is one of the omissions in Dutch era where the local resident uses it to access other regions. On 1975, this waterfall is opened as tourist destinations in north part of Bali.
Singaraja Town
Singaraja, chief town of Buleleng district and Bali's second largest town, lies on the north coast of the island just under 80 km (50 mi.) from Denpasar. In the fertile surrounding area there are extensive coffee plantations. The new harbor to the west of the town plays an important part in Bali's trade with other Indonesian islands. History of Singaraja seems to have been settled as early as the 10th century, but it was only towards the end of the 16th century, in the reign of Raja Panji Sakti, that the town became a place of any real consequence. It was named Singaraja after the palace built by the Raja in 1604. The Buleleng district takes its name from a type of grain which was grown here in the late medieval period. During the Dutch efforts to gain control of Bali Singaraja played a part of some importance, and it was only in 1849, after several unsuccessful attempts, that the Dutch managed to capture the stronghold. Later the town became the headquarters of the Dutch colonial administration, and remained the island's capital until 1946, when it gave place to Denpasar. The original town of Singaraja lies a little inland, with the districts of Pegulangan and Pabeanbuleleng to the north. It is a less bustling town than the present capital, Denpasar.
Lovina Beach
Lovina is officially located in Kalibukbuk area and covering some countryside like Pemaron, Tukad Mungga, Anturan and Kalibukbuk countryside. Kalibugbug countryside it self is located in Buleleng sub district, meanwhile the Kaliasem and Temukus countryside are located in Banjar sub district where it both of them are belong to Buleleng regency. The eastern countryside is called Pemaron about 5 Km west of Singaraja, and the western countryside is Temukus about 12 Km west of Singaraja. There are no clear sources or evidence hit the name of Lovina genesis. Pursuant to the reference of the children from Anak Agung Panji Tisna, the clan of famous Buleleng King that the name of Lovina is given by him which is located in Kaliasem countryside, where at the first time he build a bungalow as a resort. He said that the name of Lovina is taken away from a name of small hotel in India that is lafeina whereabouts he stayed and write the book with the title of Ni Ketut Widhi. This book is translated into some languages. In memory of the hotel name, hence the ownership lands give the Lovina name. But there is also other version that is Lovina Name is given caused by its 2 Santen trees are planted by him and grow embracing each other. In this case Lovina is coming from Latin Language that mean is loving each other or love. Then Lovina's name is interpreted as abbreviation from Love and Ina and it is interpreted as Love to Indonesia.
Budhist Vihara (Banjar)
Arama Brahmavihara better known among the people with the name of Banjar Buddhist Vihara, which is the largest Buddhist monastery in Bali. The location of this monastery is situated in the hills area of Tegeha Bajar, Village Banjar Banjar district which is about 22 km west of Singaraja City. Monastery offers a calm and peaceful as a spiritual place for its location area mountains. To reach this area can be done by motor vehicles. History of the establishment or Brahmavihara Arama Banjar Buddhist monastery was built around 1960 and completed in 1970. Diareal covering approximately one hectare also built miniature of Borobudur. Generally Brahmavihara Arama complex consists of five buildings. When we tour in the corners of the room and the garden, we can find many statues of Buddha. Among them were two statues of Buddha are very interesting, namely statue of Buddha statue Parinirwana and as the Buddha. The two Buddha statues are made of gilded bronze which is a contribution from Thailand and Sri Lanka in 1977. These statues are placed diruangan different. Pupuan Rice Terrace
Pupuan is located in the western part of Bali, a place to fill your eyes with awesome memories of great landscape accompanied by no one other than the friendly local farmers. If you travel from Denpasar, the road becomes less busy, less inhabited and with few tourists. The slopes in the area have, orver the years, been turned into amazing and beautiful rice terraces, together with coffee groves and orchards. Off from the road, tropical forest with pristine waterfalls and even a hidden temple await nature lovers. Like many area away from the tourist crowds, Pupuan has only a few hotels. There are some resorts selling the exceptional setting of Pupuan; they provide quality lodging, which is worth the expense for travelers willing to indulge a little. To get to Pupuan, it is best to hire a car to explore the area or if you want to enjoy the fresh air from the ocean and mountain, hire a motorcycle.
Wood Carving (Mas Village)
Mas Village is one of villages in Bali fundamentally identified as an artistic countryside by focusing in artistic of wood carving. Mas Village is located in Ubud sub district and Gianyar Regency, east part of Bali. Monkey Forest (Ubud)
Ubud Monkey Forest is dwelt by 200 monkeys, pertained to long tail inclusive macaques or macaca fascicularis group which owns the wide disseminating area. Among the amount monkeys living in this forest, there are 23 adult male, 79 adult female and 98 still baby. All the monkeys in this forest consisted of three groups, dwell certain area and use the certain place and certain time. However, it also happened that entire group can use the forest and whenever two groups are existing at same place and time, they will fight each other. These monkeys are believed as Gods Guard of Dalem Agung Temple, The Hindu Temple exist in the middle of forest. There are three Holy Temples in this monkey forest and those are existing surround the forest and it is estimated built in the middle of 14 century, in the early governance of Gelgel dynasty. Dalem Agung Temple is located in northwest from the forest represent the existence of most important temples. Beside of two others, that are Permandian Temple, in Westside from this forest and Prajapati Temple which is located in south-east side where the place of Dewa Siwa (Siwa God), one of the Khayangan Temple in Padang Tegal Village.
Ubud Market
Ubud Market is a place where the existence is not far different from other market which is there are in urban area. Ubud Market as a society economics center, it apposite to the existence of Ubud Empire that is Puri Saren. Market which is unfolding from west to easterly divided become two group with different purpose. The block at the west is for a traditional artistic market and the block located in the east as an everyday traditional fundamental market requirement. This market is opened every day about at 08:00 until 18:00 , even some from them still open until nighttime. While traditional market for the fundamental requirement is opened everyday at 06:00 - even before that there is morning market started at 04:00 morning. The art crafting are sold in this art market consisted of various crafting, from traditional until contemporary crafting which its price is relatively cheap. You can do the transaction directly to the merchant which generally can be bargained. All the crafting sold in this place you can bring home as souvenir like slipper, wood idol, bag, clothes, matting, painting and a lot of more.
Petulu Village
Petulu village is located in north east of Ubud Village. Petulu village is still a part of Ubud district. Petulu in late afternoon each day you can enjoy the spectacular sight of thousand herons arriving home in Petulu. They nest in the trees along the road through the village, and make a spectacular sight as they fly in and commence squabbling over the prime perching places. The most straight forward way there is to go the east of Jalan Raya Ubud and turn left about two km north, a road branches left to Petulu, alternatively, go north on Jalan Suweta – Ubud, continue through the village of junjungan, which is heavily in to the carving garudas, half a dozen shop by the road side offer them in all sizes from a few cm high to giant two meters Garuda which probably weigh a tone. A little further, on the right, there’s a well marked turn off to petulu Villages. Walk quickly under the trees if the herons are already roosting, the copious droppings in the road will indicated if it’s wise not to hang around. Donations are requested at the other end of the villages. About a km past the villages you reach the Tegallalang to ubud road, from where it’s a couple of km back to the center of Ubud.
Rice Terrace (Tegalalang)
Tegalalang is one of tourist places and destination in Bali, it is popular with beutiful ricefield. Tegalalang Rice village located on the north-south road from Kintamani and Ubud. Tegalalang countryside is located at 5 km northern part of Ubud Village. Various woodcarvings can be found in this village and its neighbors. Very colorful carvings of flowers, animals and other designs are displayed along the road, and of course a beutiful ricefield. Tegalalang Rice Terrace is one of the more popular rice terrace to visit. The rice terrace is designed very beautiful with exquisite hollowing rice field and precisely located on the hill bank. In this place, you will see the Balinese farmer do their rice field in oblique area complete with its system irrigation. You will enjoy the beautiful panorama of valley with rice terrace and coconut trees ornament it. Tegalalang Rice Terrace is one of the tourist icon in Ubud Bali and many visited by tourists every day.
